Message from the President
RCDA - initiated with a few members in 1999, has grown from strength to strength to become one of the most vibrant professional groups affiliated to the Royal College Union and has over 1500 membership. It has given an opportunity to its membership to serve the Alma Mater in various ways to repay the debt they owe to their great school.
Members of RCDA are not only involved in providing routine health care facility to Royal students, present and past teachers and non-academic staff. They also extend their service to improve the learning skills of students by teaching advanced scientific educational methods, promote the science stream and medicine among the pre Advanced Level students and uplift the knowledge of young Royalists in important health and non-health related issues. They also screen the vision of all student population and take corrective measures, prevent dental diseases among the primary students by applying a protective gel and address the issue of children with learning difficulties in primary and counseling of students.
RCDA also has actively participated in various community service projects bringing the pride to the college and also giving example to present students about their responsibilities in society as an old Royalist in future.
I also take this opportunity to thank all who helped me to lead the RCDA over the last four years from very senior Old Royalists- medical consultants to the most junior doctors.
And also I appreciate the work done by organizing committee of RCDA NITTE – 2013 not only for funds raised for future activities of the RCDA but also for giving such a great opportunity to Old Royalist Doctors and their families to reconnect with the Royal traditions and enjoy this memorable evening.
Dr. Ajith Tennakoon,
President, RCDA.
