12.00 - 1.00 pm: Session by Dr. Eranga Kodikara (Registrar in Emergency Medicine, National Hospital of Sri Lanka) 

  • Early identification, Basic Resuscitation / First aid and Safe transportation / mobilization in following occasions with case scenarios
    • An Unconscious patient
    • Shortness of breath
    • Choking / foreign body obstruction
    • Fainting attacks
    • Seizure / fits
    • Electrocution
    • Drowning
    • Fire

 

1.00 – 1.15 pm: Time for questions and break between sessions

 

1.15 -2.15 pm: Session by Dr. Indika Weerasinghe (Senior Registrar in Orthopaedic Surgery, National Hospital of Sri Lanka)

  • Basic Resuscitation / First aid and Safe transportation / mobilization in following occasions with case scenarios
    • Head injury and cervical spine stabilization
    • Sports injuries
    • Falls / trauma
  • Initial wound care
  • Introduction to braces and supports

2.15 – 2.30 pm: Time for questions and break between sessions
